Seagull

Frequently Asked Questions
  • What is the difference between a catamaran and a sailboat?

A cat has two hulls instead of one making it a much smoother, stable ride.  It’s like comparing a BMW to a dirt bike.

  • Will I get seasick?

Our boats range from 60’ to 65’ in length and are very stable.  Seasickness is not common on our boats but still, it depends on the individual.  We recommend that if you know you get seasick, use a wristband, patches behind the ear, ginger pills or motion sickness medication. We carry oxygen on all boats.

  • What should I wear?

During the day, consider beachwear – a swimsuit, shorts, t-shirt and maybe a long sleeve top in the event that you get too much sun.

Keep in mind that we have a barefoot policy on our boats but bring sandals to protect you from the hot sand when we beach on Nevis or on the Southeast Peninsula.

  • What should I bring?

A bathing suit, beach towel, sunscreen, hat and sunglasses.  A long sleeve shirt in the event that you are getting too much sun.  For sunset or moonlight cruises, we recommend bringing a light sweater or jacket in the event you get cool.

  • Do you have life jackets?

Yes, we have life jackets for our guests in all different sizes including for children ages seven years and older.  For children under seven, we ask that you bring a lifejacket with you.

  • Will I get wet?

Only if you want to.  You can choose to stay dry or to venture into the blue waters with a dip or a snorkel.

  • How far in advance should I book?

We practice a first come, first serve policy so we strongly recommend not putting off for tomorrow what you can do today.  This is an experience you won’t want to miss.  We do accept walk-on’s but most often our boats are booked up to seven days in advance.

  • Are there bathrooms?

Yes, there are full bathroom facilities on all of our boats.

  • What is the departure point?

We meet at the Tour Store located at Port Zante in Basseterre, St. Kitts across from the cruise ship terminal.

  • Can you accommodate groups?

Yes we can accommodate groups up to 100 people depending on the boat.

  • Does your crew speak English? Do they have first aid training?

Our crew all speaks English and all have their first aid training certification.

  • Do you provide snorkel equipment?

For the convenience of our guests, we do offer snorkel equipment free of charge to enhance your adventure.  The water is beautiful and snorkeling is easy to learn so we strongly encourage our guests to give it a try.  Lifejackets are available for those still a little hesitant in the water.

  • Are food and drinks served on board?

Our full day cruises include a buffet lunch and all you can drink including our memorable rum punch.  Our guests are always pleasantly surprised by the tastiness of our food.

Half day cruises include a light lunch, sunset includes dry party snacks, and moonlight cruises  vary based on the cruise.  All cruises include all you can drink.

Private charters vary based on the requirements of our guests.

  • Is there shade on board?

For our guests hiding from the sun, we certainly have cover to shade you from the sun.

  • Is there a place to lay out and suntan?

Absolutely.  You may lay on the seats on deck or on the nets with the sea below you.  The Caribbean sun is much stronger than many other places so we strongly recommend that you use your sunscreen.

  • What is your cancellation policy?

You may cancel up to 24 hours in advance and get a full refund.  In the event that you give less than 24 hours notice, we will issue you a 50% refund.  If we cancel due to bad weather or mechanical difficulties, we issue you a full refund. Private charters have different cancellation policy, which may be determined at the time of booking.

  • Is there an age limit? Are children welcome?

On certain cruises we don't recommend taking children. It is best to inquire prior to booking.

Parents are fully responsible to both watch and keep control of their children.  Our crew have a number of important duties and responsibilities on our cruises and are not able to babysit.

  • Are there any restrictions?

Our crew reserves the right to request that a guest does not come on the boat or does not return on the boat at the point of docking if they feel that guest may be endangering themselves or our other guests due to intoxication and/or risky behavior.

We have a zero-tolerance policy onboard the boats regarding illicit drugs and illegal substances.

  • May I pay using my credit card?

Yes, we accept both VISA and MasterCard.

  • I sent in my reservation with my credit card and now what happens?

Once you send a reservation and we confirm there is space available, we then charge your card.  We then put the confirmation number and other important information in an email to you.
